Visa Egypt: Visa application procedures for Egypt

Egypt has just imposed since Thursday, September 17, 2015, on Tunisian, Moroccan and Algerian nationals, an entry visa. The Egyptian authorities invoke imperatives of security and the fight against terrorism.

“Tunisians, Moroccans and Algerians should, in addition to obtaining a visa, apply for a special pass, obtained from the Egyptian security services,” according to the Egyptian news site, “Sada El Balad”.

Even with a visa, Tunisian, Moroccan and Algerian nationals should be subject to a police investigation upon arrival at the Cairo airport before they can enter the country.

  • The documents requested are as follows:
  • A visa application form.
  • 2 Photos of identity.
  • A copy of the passport and passport valid for at least 6 months.
  • Visa fee (90 dt for tourist visa and 120 dt for business visa).
  • Certificate of Work.
  • Three-month bank statements.
  • Any other proof of travel (mission order, invitation, internship, etc.).

To apply for a visa, you have to go to the embassy without an appointment between 9.00 and 11.00 and wait your turn. There are two lines, one for men and one for women. Mobile phones are strictly prohibited and must remain outside the embassy.

An agent will take your file and give you a receipt. You must contact each time the two numbers displayed in the receipt (71901447 and 71909377) between 11:30 and 14:30 to keep track of your file, but it seems that no one answers the phone. Therefore, you have to go to the embassy every time to see if your visa application has been processed.

Once approved, the officer will set a date for the visa printing and payment of fees. So no visa fee if your application is refused.
