Granting of residence permit for foreigners
Conditions for obtaining the benefit
- The applicant must be a foreign national.
- His entry into Tunisia must be legal.
- Compliance with the regulations in force concerning entry, stay and work in Tunisia.
Required documents
1) If the applicant is engaged in a paid activity
- Contract of employment covered or a certificate of failure to comply with the visa requirement of the contract of employment.
- Copy of the Company’s Statute and its publication in the J.O.R.T.
- Proof of accommodation.
- Copy of passport still valid.
- 04 identity photos.
- Complete the Visa Application Form – Residence Card.
2) In case of study
- Certificate of education or registration for the current academic year.
- Certification of an income.
- Copy of passport still valid.
- 04 identity photos.
- Proof of accommodation.
- Complete the Visa Application Form – Residence Card.
3) In case of marriage
- Marriage certificate written by a Tunisian authority or legalized by services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- A contract of employment covered or a certificate of failure to comply with the visa of the employment contract if the spouse is an employee.
- Copy of passport still valid.
- Proof of accommodation.
- 04 identity photos.
- Complete the Visa Application Form – Residence Card.
4) For pensioners (not gainfully employed)
- Certificate of periodic and regular transfer of the retirement pension (or any other source of income).
- Proof of accommodation.
- Copy of passport still valid.
- 04 identity photos.
- Complete the Visa Application Form – Residence Card.
5) The investors
- Attestation of failure to comply with the visa requirement of the employment contract.
- Copy of the Company’s Statute and its publication in the J.O.R.T.
- Proof of accommodation.
- Copy of passport still valid.
- 04 identity photos.
- Complete the Visa Application Form – Residence Card.
Place of lodging of the file
- National Security sectors for ordinary investors.
- The offices of the Industry Promotion Agency or the Investor Support Unit at the Ministry of Development and International Cooperation (concerning investors, members of their families and executives working with them).
Time limits
- Within a maximum of one month if the file contains all the requested documents.
