First registration and re-registration of a vehicle already registered abroad
Conditions for obtaining the benefit
Acquire a new vehicle from a dealer or import a vehicle from abroad.
Required documents
- Application for registration of a vehicle on a printout issued by the ATTT.
- The document(s) justifying the legal ownership of the vehicle.
- A copy of the vehicle description.
- A copy of the ticket (minutes) of receipt.
- A certificate of conformity in the case of a type-approval (issued by the dealer).
- The original of the certificate issued by the Customs services for the registration of the vehicle in a Tunisian series (this certificate is not required for vehicles manufactured or mounted in Tunisia).
- A receipt for the filing of the personal income tax or corporate income tax return relating to the regulations in force.
- Duty Release or certificate of exemption.
Vehicles already registered abroad
Replace documents 2, 3, 4, 5 with the original of the foreign registration certificate and the certificate of identification issued by a technical visit centre valid for one month and an approval report for vehicles subject to exceptional transport.
- File to be completed for commercial vehicles, tricycles, motor quadricycles and vehicles intended for passenger transport (greater than 9, including driver)
A statement of the empty weight if the latter is not mentioned on the information sheet or on the acceptance report.
- File to be completed for exceptional transport vehicles
Single approval report issued by the ATTT for vehicles intended for exceptional transport.
- File to be completed for vehicles registered abroad and equipped with LPG or CNG
Presentation of a certificate issued by the specialized services of the ATTT indicating that the installation complies with the current regulations. This certificate shall be drawn up in accordance with a model provided by the ATTT.
- File to be completed for civilian ambulance vehicles not under the control of the Ministry of Public Health
A copy of the authorization from the Ministry of Interior and Local Development.
- File to be completed for state-owned vehicles
Transmissions slip indicating the PE registration number assigned by the Ministry of State and Land Affairs.
- File to be completed for diplomatic mission vehicles
Transmissions slip indicating the registration number assigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
